Essential Steps to Take After a Car Accident

After a Vehicle Accident – Always Do This:

  1. Check for injuries. Call 911 immediately if anyone is hurt.
  2. Exchange details: license, registration, and insurance (check expiry).
  3. Call 911 and file a police report – it protects you from higher insurance rates.
  4. Even if the other driver offers to pay out of pocket, still call 911 so it’s documented. If they don’t pay, their insurance will be liable. Without a report, you may have to cover costs yourself.
  5. If they have no health insurance, call 911.
